Georgia has been involved with art all her life. Growing up, she excelled at art in school using soft pencil, pen and ink, and pastels as her mediums. In the summer, when she was a teenager, Georgia and her mother would drive through the Texas Hill Country with a picnic lunch stopping here and there to sketch the wonderful landscapes and rivers of this treasured area. She continues as an adult in her artistic endeavors. Georgia finds oils on canvas her favorite medium as an adult artist because, to her, it allows a living collaboration between the paint and her works. Whether looking at art or drawing and painting in her studio, Georgia finds energy, passion, and inspiration from artwork.
She is inspired by all types of artwork. What moves Georgia when she looks at art are things such as, brush strokes, the use of light on the canvas, or the individual ways an artist may interpret his subject through his style of painting. Landscape artworks are particularly interesting and inspiring as this is what her works mainly consist of.
She has been working for years to hone and perfect her personal skill and interpretation of the landscapes she likes to paint.
Today Georgia paints in her studio at home from photographs she takes where ever she goes, or she enjoys plein air painting at her country home in Hunt Texas.
She studied for many years with Nancy Pruden and has taken workshops at the Fredericksburg Art School.
